My Little World...Is Becoming, Well...Smaller...

Yes, the world is still a very big place...and a place that I have not even seen a tiny speck of. I would love to see more of it. Until then, I am just so very impressed with how the internet has brought so many people together. I am an admitted "Disney Nerd" and through the modern marvel, Facebook have found many friends with common interests, and a shared passion for all things with the Mouse. I have even made contact with former Walt Disney World co-workers (Cast Members to you and I). I struggle with my weight, and have for a few years now. I have been on and off the Weight Watchers wagon several times over the past 12 (gasp!) years. This time, I am doing the Plan strictly online. Through the WW boards, and many of these people finding me on FB. Something has finally clicked staying OP (on plan to WWers) and I find that I am really holding myself accountable to these people, none of whom have I ever met!!! Through FB, I now know what my old school mates are up to...some from as far back as kindergarten!!! I get to see how they cope with their day-to-day lives...families, spouses, jobs...just like me!!! Of course, it is great when an old friend posts pics from a far-off, exotic locale...I get to experience their travels from the comforts of my own home. :0) It is also nice to find someone who shares the same struggles as you. In my case, it is my amazing son, Michael...who was officially diagnosed with Asperger's Syndrome nearly a year ago. I have made connections near and far with other mothers (no fathers yet) whose children share the same diagnosis. In fact, just yesterday via a touching email from a co-worker, I learned that her beautiful 8-year old daughter has a similar condition. It is so nice to know that others have the same struggles or have the same victories as I do!!!
